During the weeks 8 and 9, the Milestone 2.1 was officially completed, as tar cracking experiments were performed successfully at TNO with tar rich product gas. The 25 kW MILENA gasifier was operated with beech wood and SRF feedstock, provided by ENVIRAL.
Five catalytic samples selected by NIC were tested in fixed bed reactors at a temperature range: 400 – 800°C and ambient pressure. The performance of the catalysts will be evaluated in terms of tar conversion and Benzene/Toluene compounds selectivity.
The results will provide valuable information for the design of the CCT reactor.
